Erath - Loway Joseph Suire, a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to many passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 29, 2010 at the age of 86. A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Suire will be held at 3:00 PM on Thursday, September 2, 2010 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Erath. Reverend Paul Broussard, Pastor of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church will be the celebrant of the Funeral Mass and conduct the funeral services. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at David Funeral Home of Erath on Thursday, September 2, 2010 from 9:00 AM until time of services. Recitations of the Rosary will be held at 11:00 AM by the Catholic Daughters Alter Society and again at 1:00 PM by the Knights of Columbus Council # 3872 in the funeral home. Entombment will follow services in Our Lady of Lourdes Mausoleum. Loway, a parishioner and long time Usher at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church was born in Erath where he was a lifelong resident. He served with the U.S. Armys 279th Station Hospital in England during World War II. His decorations include the Army Good Conduct Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, World War II Victory Medal Army of Occupation Medal with Germany Clasp, National Defense Service Medal and Honorable Service Lapel Button World War II. Mr. Suire was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council # 3872 and the American Legion Derouen-Moss Post # 279 having served as an Honor Guard for many years . He was employed by Kerr Magee as a crane operator for 16 years and was also self employed as a painting contractor and owner of Suires Camp before retiring in 2004. He is survived by his devoted wife of 64 years, Maudry Vincent Suire, who took ardent and loving care of him during his declining health; his daughter, Patricia Baudoin and her husband, Danny(Bud) of Erath; grandchildren, Danny Hebert of Mandeville, Vincent Hebert and his wife Jonnie Ann of Madisonville and Kevin Hebert of Lake Charles; great-grandchildren, Justin Michael Hebert, Jessica Marie Hebert and John Matthew Hebert; sisters, Celia Bouillon, Lovelyn wife of Raymond Prejean and Belzire Belle wife of Cleo Clay Landry, Jr. all of Erath; brothers, Jean B. J.C. Suire of Delcambre, Pierre Jimmy Suire and wife Lois, Boniface Boni Suire, Jr. and wife, Faye of Erath; Sister-in-law, Ida Soriez Suire of Gonzales and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Boniface Boni Suire, Sr. and Belzire Landry Suire; sister, Elta Cormier; brother, Adam P.D. Suire ; son-in-law John P. Johnny Hebert; brother-in-law, David Bouillon and sister-in-law, Isabelle Menard Suire. Pallbearers will be Danny Hebert, Vincent Hebert, Kevin Hebert, Justin Michael Hebert, Dewayne Suire and Boniface Boni Suire, Jr. Honorary Pallbearers will be John Matthew Hebert, Walter Hildalgo, Bernard Delahoussaye ,Roger Simon, Earl Broussard and all of the members of American Legion Derouen-Moss Post # 279 and the Knights of Columbus Council # 3872.
