Erath " Funeral Services for Mr. Gerald J. Hardy, Sr., 64, will be held at 11:00AM on Monday, September 13, 2010 at David Funeral Home Chapel in Erath with Deacon Randy Hyde officiating. Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home of Erath on Sunday, September 12, 2010 from 12:00PM until 10:00PM. Visitation will resume on Monday, September 13, 2010 from 8:00AM until the time of service. Interment will follow in St. Paul Cemetery. Born in Abbeville on February 9, 1946, and a resident of New Iberia for the last fifteen years, Gerald died peacefully at 11:25PM on Friday, September 10, 2010 at his home. Gerald was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and uncle who cherished every minute he spent with his family and friends. Gerald loved to shrimp, and go camping with his family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife of twenty years, Rebecca LeBlanc Hardy of New Iberia; four sons Chris Hardy of Lucedale Mississippi, Gerald Hardy Jr. of New Iberia, Jerred Hardy of Sulphur, and Casey Hardy of New Iberia; two daughters Emeral Hardy and Jeannette Hardy of New Iberia; six grandchildren Elizabeth Duhon of Maurice, Brentny Hess of Delcambre, Ethan and Jade Hardy of New Iberia, and Chelsea and Kadence Hardy of Sulphur; three great grandchildren MacKenzee Desormeaux, Londyn and Ava Duhon of Maurice; three sisters Janice Broussard of Jennings, La., Theresa Merritt of Carless, and Debra LeBlanc, of Denham Springs; brother Craig Hardy of Jennings; aunts Ella Jane Landry and Gladys Whatley; cousins, Denise, Wade, and Chuck; and ten nieces and nephews. He was proceeded in death by son Brent Hardy, his infant brother Joseph Hardy Jr.; his loving Mother Jeanette Leblanc Lovelady; step father Donald Lovelady; granddaughter Christa Hardy; father Joseph Hardy, maternal grandparents Janius LeBlanc and Estelle LeMaire, paternal grandparents Albert and Josephine Hardy. Serving as pallbearers will be Chris Hardy, Gerald Hardy Jr., Jerred Hardy, Casey Hardy, Wendell LeBlanc, and Richard Delcambre Jr. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Stuart Head and Paul Ardenaux.
