Lafayette- D.L. (Red) McGuffin, born Nov. 16, 1919, passed away Dec. 28, 2013. Originally a native of Texas, Red moved to Broussard in 2005 with his wife of 66 years Mary K. . Red served his country in the U.S. Army in the south pacific during WWII. Red spent most of his career in the oil fields of south Texas. After retiring from the oil & gas industry, he pursued a long time interest of restoring antique vehicles. Red over the years enjoyed hunting, fishing & tinkering with just about anything mechanical. Red is survived by his wife of 66 years, Mary K., 3 sons, Bert, Bobby, Ben, 4 grandchildren & three great grandchildren & 1 sister, Ella Mae Higgins.
