New Iberia " Funeral services will be conducted for Mr. Harold A. LaBauve, Sr., 100, on Wednesday, January 15, 2014, at 1:30 PM in the David Funeral Home Chapel with Father Gary Schexnayder officiating. Burial will follow at Holy Family Mausoleum with Military Graveside Rites conducted by V.F.W. Post 1982 of New Iberia and the U. S. Navy Honor Guard. Visitation will be on Tuesday, January 14, 2014, from 9:00 AM until 9:00 PM and resume on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at 8:00 AM until the service. A rosary will be prayed in the funeral home on Tuesday at 7:00 PM. A native and resident of New Iberia, Mr. LaBauve passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2014, at 3:10 PM at his residence. He was a Veteran of World War II having served in the U.S. Navy and served on Navy landing barges that carried equipment and supplies. He was the owner and operator of LaBauve Bicycle Store for 50 plus years. He loved dancing, LSU Sports especially LSU Football. He was an LSU Football Season Ticket Holder since 1953. He is survived by his children, Walter D. Dub LaBauve and his wife Bonnie, Harold A. Tony LaBauve, Jr. and Billie Champagne and her fiance Martin Conrad all of New Iberia; his grandchildren, David Keith Romero and his wife Monique of New Iberia, Shauna LaBauve Voorhies and her husband Neil of Katy, TX, Walter Beau LaBauve, II of Lafayette, Angela Champagne Freyou and her husband David, Christopher LaBauve and Matthew LaBauve all of New Iberia; his great grandchildren, David Romero of New Iberia, Grant Peterson and his wife Brea of Hawaii, Austin Peterson of Fairbanks, Alaska, Connor Voorhies of Katy, TX, Maddie Muffoletto of Lafayette, Drew Gary and Shea Gary both of New Iberia and his great great granddaughter, Ryleigh Peterson of Hawaii. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Abney LaBauve; his parents, Walter J. LaBauve and Cecile Miguez LaBauve; his daughter, Sue L. Romero; his son-in-law, David Romero, Jr.; his brothers, Walter LaBauve, Jr., Roy LaBauve, Kenwood LaBauve and Dallas LaBauve; his sisters, Inez LaBauve, Lily LaBauve Viator and Eunice LaBauve Bradberry and his great grandchild, Garrett Peterson. Pallbearers will be Walter Beau LaBauve, Matthew LaBauve, Dave Romero, Jeff Dubois, Mark Abney and Jack Abney. Honorary pallbearer will be Christopher LaBauve.
