Youngsville " Funeral Services for Mrs. Freddie Nook Menard the former Verna Laviolette, 85, will be held at 2:00PM on Monday, November 1, 2010 at David Funeral Chapel of Lafayette with Fr. Edward Duhon officiating. Visitation will be at David Funeral Home of Lafayette on Sunday, October 31, 2010 from 1:00PM until 9:00PM with a recitation of the rosary at 7:00PM. Visitation will resume on Monday, November 1, 2010 from 8:00AM until the time of the services. Interment will follow at St. Michaels Cemetery. A native of St. Martin Parish and a long time Resident of Youngsville, Mrs. Menard died at 4:03AM on Friday, October 29, 2010 at a Lafayette Hospital. She was known for for her enjoyment of cooking, dancing, gardening, and going to the casino. She is survived by four daughters, Verna M. Dronet and her husband Paul of Lafayette, Mary Ann Smith and her husband Junior of Scott, Thelma Hebert and her husband Leroy of Youngsville, and Gail Freitag and her husband Paul of Youngsville; seven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; three step grandchildren; nine step great grandchildren; and one step great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Freddie Nook Menard; her parents, Jacque and Mathilda Landry Laviolette; two brothers, Percy Laviolette and Jacque Jack Laviolette; and a sister, Mary Champange. Serving as pallbearers will be Burt Champange, Kenny Dronet, Rusty Fritz, Stewart Huval, Ronnie Laviolette, and Rocky Laviolette. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Paul Dronet, Junior Smith, Leroy Hebert, and Carson Smith. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Michelle Landry and Amie Green with The Chronic Care Team at Lafayette General Medical Center, the 7th floor ICU staff of Lafayette General Medical Center, Dr. Richard Broussard, Dr. J. Jaikishen, Dr. Dwayne Brown, Dr. Guillory, Dr. Ashkar, and Dr. Zeik for the outstanding job they did caring for Mrs. Menard.
