Jeanerette -Funeral Services for Mr. Orgnell Borel, 92, will be held at 11:00AM on Monday, December 2, 2013 at Calvary Pentecostal Church of Jeanerette with Rev. A.L. Lyle officiating. Visitation will be held at Calvary Pentecostal Church of Jeanerette on Sunday, December 1, 2013 from 4:00PM until 10:00PM with a Service of Remembrance at 6:00PM. Visitation will resume on Monday, December 2, 2013 from 8:00AM until the time of the services. Interment will follow at Calvary Pentecostal Cemetery. A native of Weeks Island and a resident of Jeanerette Mr. Borel died at 12:36PM on Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at Maison Teche Nursing Center. As a young man Mr. Borel worked at the salt mine then in the shipyard and every winter he could found in the marshes trapping. He was a skillful carpenter and enjoyed doing woodworking. He was also a charter and active member of Calvary Pentecostal Church and was known for his love to gather and spent time with his family. He is survived by his wife of 74 years, Delta Mae Guillotte Borel of Jeanerette; two sons, Carrol Borel, Sr. and his companion Vernice Duhon of Jeanerette and Larry Borel of Jeanerette; a daughter, Janell B. Derise and her husband Paulfrey Derise of Jeanerette; thirteen grandchildren, twenty-six great grandchildren, and eighteen great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marcel and Meda Prince Borel; a son, Lonnie Borel; two daughter in laws, Ellen Fay C. Borel and Delores B. Borel; three brothers, Enoch Borel, Stanley Borel, and Stewart Tookey Borel; four sisters, Lula Bergeron, Lucille Jolet, Ida Bell Verret, and Odell Derouen; and four great grandchildren, Rachel Derise, Joshua Derise, Precious Naya Rodrigues, and Courtney Boswell. Serving as pallbearers will be Derwood Derise, Dwight Derise, Dwayne Derise, Blake Derise, Jordan Derise, Carrol Borel, Jr., Jeffrey Borel, Gage Borel, and Edgardo Vega. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Carrol Borel, Sr., Larry Borel, and Paulfrey Derise. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Paramount Hospice and the staff of Maison Teche Nursing Home. The family has request in lieu of flowers donations be made to the family for funeral expenses.
