Erath " Funeral Services for Mr. Leonard J. Babin, 62, will be held at 11:00AM on Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at David Funeral Chapel of Erath with Deacon Randy Hyde officiating. Visitation will be at David Funeral Home of Erath on Tuesday, November 30, 2010 beginning at 2:00PM with a recitation of the rosary at 7:00PM. The funeral home will remain open all night until the time of the services. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery. A Native of St. Martinsville and a resident of Erath Mr. Babin died at 12:00PM on Sunday, November 28, 2010 at Vermilion Health Care Center. He worked several years for the City of Erath before going into the oilfield. He was also known for his enjoyment of Camping, Gardening, dancing, and being with family and friends. He is survived by his father, Jules Babin, Sr. and his companion Melisa Angella of Cecilia; three daughters, Stephanie Babin and her companion Lonnie Monteaux of Abbeville, Shannon Touchet and her former husband John Touchet, III of Abbeville , and Shantel Boudreaux and her husband David of Youngsville; a son, Cleo J. Babin and his fiance Summer LeBlanc of Youngsville; two brothers, Jules Babin, Jr. and Clifton Babin both of Abbeville; a sister, Edmay Babin of Abbeville; and three grandchildren, Jasmine Touchet, Blaise Touchet, and Bayden Boudreaux. He was preceded in death by his mother, Inez Simon Babin; his former wife, Barbara Babin, and a grandson, Aaron John Touchet. Serving as pallbearers will be Cleo Babin, Jules Babin, Jr., David Boudreax, Blaise Touchet, Lonnie Monteaux, and John Touchet, III. Serving as honorary pallbearer will be Bayden Boudreaux. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Hospice of Acadiana, The staff of Vermilion Health Care, and and his caregiver Lydia Milliman for the care of their father.
