Louis Melvin Leblanc, Sr.

Jeanerette " Funeral services will be conducted for Louis Melvin TuBlanc LeBlanc, Sr., 80, on Wednesday, November 27, 2013, at 10:00 AM at St, John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Father Jody Simoneaux officiating. Interment will follow in St. John Cemetery.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, November 26, 2013, from 1:00 PM until 10:00 PM and resume on Wednesday, November 27, 2013, at 8:00 AM until services. A rosary will be prayed in the funeral home on Tuesday at 7:00 PM.

A native of Patoutville and resident of Jeanerette, Mr. LeBlanc passed away on Sunday, November 24, 2013, at 9:40 PM at his residence. He was employed at Diamond M Offshore for 25 years and retired as a Roughneck. He also was a farmer. He like to ride his bike, listening to French music, speaking French, walking and visiting with family and friends. He was a faithful parishioner at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.

He is survived by his children, Louis Melvin LeBlanc, Jr. and his wife Helen of Jeanerette, Deborah LeBlanc of Youngsville, Penny LeBlanc of Lydia, Mona Landry and her husband Dwayne of Jeanerette, Gerard LeBlanc of St. Martinville, Angela Berthelot of New Iberia, Jerome LeBlanc, Sr. and his wife Christine, Monica Lajaunie and her husband Anthony, Anthony LeBlanc, Sr. all of Jeanerette and Nicole Rebert and her husband Moses of New Iberia; his brother, Silton LeBlanc, Sr. of Charenton; 25 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jeane Savoie LeBlanc; his parents, Eli and Agnes Gary LeBlanc; his brothers, Vernice LeBlanc, Sr., St. Paul LeBlanc, Paul Cano LeBlanc and Milton LeBlanc; his sisters, Mary Mae Derouen, Louise St.Germain, Edith Legnon, Ella Mae Picard, Dorena Eskind and Beulah Mae Derouen and 1 grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Louis Melvin LeBlanc, Jr., Gerard LeBlanc, Jerome LeBlanc, Sr., Anthony LeBlanc, Sr., Jerome LeBlanc, Jr. and Billy LeBlanc.

Honorary pallbearers will be Moses Rebert, Dwayne Landry and Anthony Lajaunie.

David Funeral Home of Jeanerette, 400 Provost St. (337) 276-5151 is in charge of arrangements.
