Youngsville - A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Severin Jacque Romero, 92, will be held at 10:00AM on Tuesday, December 24, 2013 at St. Anne Catholic Church with Fr. Mario Romero officiating. Visitation will be at David Funeral Home of Lafayette on Monday, December 23, 2013 from 3:00PM until 9:00PM with a recitation at 7:00PM. Visitation will resume on Tuesday, December 24, 2013 from 8:00AM until the time of the service. Interment will follow at St. Anne Mausoleum. A native of Coteau and a resident Youngsville Mr. Romero died at 7:45AM on Sunday, December 22, 2013 at St. Martinsville Rehab and Nursing Center. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII. Mr. Jacque retired from Amoco Gas as a propane salesman after over 27 years of service. After retirement he drove a delivery truck for All Hose Specialty which he enjoyed. He was also known for his enjoyment of playing cards, dancing, going to the casino, gardening and spending time with family. He is survived by three daughters, Lucia and her husband Melvin Broussard, Jr. of New Iberia, Barbara and her husband Joe Credeur of Youngsville, and Connie Romero and her companion Sam Babin of Youngsville; a son, Glenn Romero, Sr. and his wife Rhenee of Homer; a half sister, Mabel Racca of Lafayette; nine grandchildren, Tony Credeur, Tammy Credeur, Toby Credeur, Robby Trahan, Tiffany Smith, Diana Romero, Kim Romero, Leslie Romero, and Glenn Romero, Jr.; twenty great grandchildren and one great great grandchild on the way. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rita Theriot Romero; his parents, Adonis Romero, Sr. and Idea Romero; two brothers, Arvenia Romero and Adonis Romero, Jr.; five sisters, Alozia Romero Boutin, Colestie Romero, Mathilda Touchet Moore, Blanche Romero, and Dollie Romero; three half brothers, Alexie Romero, Simon Romero, and Ralph Babin; and two half sisters, Zabia Maturin and Eunice Romero Babin. Serving as pallbearers will be Tony Credeur, Toby Credeur, Andre Romero, Tyler Bourque, Taylor Anderson, and Chance Martens. David Funeral Home of Lafayette at 316 Youngsville Hwy (337)837-9887 will be handling the arrangements.
