Harold James "Jim" Lacour, Jr.

New Iberia- Funeral Services will be conducted for Mr. Harold James Jim Lacour, Jr., age 69, at 10:00AM Thursday October 28, 2010 at Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church with Fr. Charles Langlois officiating. Interment will follow in Nativity of Our Lady Mausoleum. Visitation will begin Wednesday October 27, 2010 from 1:00PM until 10:00PM with a recitation of a rosary at 6:30PM. Visitation will resume Thursday from 8:00AM until time of service.

A native of Hackberry, La. and resident of New Iberia Mr. Lacour passed away Sunday October 24, 2010 at 4:50AM in a local hospital. Mr. Lacour worked in the oilfield for over 50 years; he retired with Exxon Mobil after 25 years of service. Jim enjoyed cooking for family gatherings, spending time at his camp in Lake Fausse Point and his true passion was fishing.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Ann Broussard Lacour of Jeanerette; two sons, Chad Lacour and wife Wendy of New Iberia; and Shane Lacour and wife Nicole of New Iberia; four grandchildren, Axl James Lacour, McKenzie Sophia Lacour, Samantha Marie Rivers, and Amber Lynn Rivers all of New Iberia; nephews, Zed Lacour and wife Brigette of Lafayette, Jesse Lacour and wife Stephanie of Houston, TX.; niece, Nancy Buford Wenig of Colorado; godsons, Ron Lacour and wife Michelle of New Iberia; and James Jimmy Marc Buford of Lafayette; aunt, Marine Dodson of Jeanerette; brothers-in-law, Joe Broussard and wife Joyce of Jeanerette; Gene Broussard and wife Barbara of Jeanerette; James Broussard and wife Janice of St. Martinville; Charles Broussard and wife Janice of Jeanerette; Wayne Broussard of Jeanerette; and David Broussard and wife Tina of New Iberia; sisters-in-law, Theresa Lacour- Hebert and husband Sid of New Iberia, Margaret Laughlin and husband David of Ocean Beach, TX., and Linda Broussard of New Iberia; 48 nephews and nieces; and 38 great nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Harold James Lacour, Sr. and Rita Gary; one sister, Patricia Lacour Buford; his father-in -law, Joseph Broussard, Sr.; his mother-in-law, Gertrude Aucoin Broussard; and one sister-in-law, Dorothy Robin Weber.

Serving as pallbearers will be Chad Lacour, Shane Lacour, Axl Lacour, James Jimmy Marc Buford, Zed Lacour, and Ron Lacour.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Joe Broussard, Jesse Lacour, Wiltz Leleux, and Kevin Adams.
