Erath " A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Durphy J. Primeaux, 88, will be held at 10:00AM on Monday, January 24, 2011 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Fr. Austin Leger officiating. Visitation will be at David Funeral Home of Erath on Sunday, January 23, 2011 from 1:00PM until 9:00PM with a recitation of the rosary at 6:00PM. Visitation will resume on Monday, January 24, 2011 from 8:00AM until the time of the services. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Lourdes Mausoleum. A native of Vermilion Parish and a resident of Erath Mr. Primeaux died at 7:04AM on Thursday, January 20, 2011 at Abbeville General Hospital. He proudly served his country in the Navy during WWII; retired from Gulf Oil Refinery after over 29 years of service; was a lifetime member of VFW Post 4158 and a member of Derouen-Moss American Legion Post 279; an avid camper for over 20 years; member of Acadiana Fly Rodders; and also enjoyed gardening. He is survived by his devoted wife of 65 years, Laura Menard Primeaux of Erath; a daughter, Glenda P. Elliott and her husband Charles of Mountain Home, AK; a grandson, Adam Henry of Youngsville; and two great granddaughters, Allie M. Henry and Jainie C. Henry both of Lafayette. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fernand and Rosalie Geoffroy Primeaux; two brothers, Dalton Primeaux and Eallie Primeaux; and four sisters, Eunice P. Comeaux, Lilly P. Broussard, Geneieve P. Hebert, and Delores P. Landry. Serving during mass is Vicky Menard as reader, and Allie Henry and Jainie Henry as giftbearers. Serving as pallbearers will be Adam Henry, Gil Primeaux, Bryant Hebert, Cory Menard, Tracy Menard, and Mark Vosin. David Funeral Home of Erath at 209 E.
