Johnny Ray Stansbury

New Iberia- Funeral services will be conducted for Johnny Ray Stansbury, age 66, Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at 3:00pm at David Funeral Home Chapel in Jeanerette with Fr. Ed Degeyter officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will begin Monday, January 17, 2011 from 6:00pm until 10:00pm. Visitation will resume Tuesday, January 18, 2011 from 10:00am until the time of service.

A native of Jeanerette and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Stansbury died Sunday, January 16, 2011 at 1:56pm in a Lafayette hospital. In Johnnys younger years, he enjoyed playing basketball with his brothers and drag racing. His favorite past time at home was cutting grass on his tractor. Most of all, Johnny loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Mr. Stansbury is survived by his wife Glenda Stansbury of New Iberia; sons, Chad Stansbury and wife Angelia of Youngsville; and Michael Stansbury and wife Cotina of Jeanerette; daughters, Angela Boudreaux and husband David of New Iberia; Camille Brignac and husband Michael of Jeanerette; and Tara Segura and husband Clarence of Gonzales; brothers, Antoine Stansbury, Jr. of Lydia; Kenneth Stansbury and wife Tana of Jeanerette; Samuel Stansbury and wife Ginger of New Iberia; and Gerald Stansbury and wife Barbara of Jeanerette; grandchildren, Celeste and Derek Trosclair, both of New Iberia; Jerome LeBlanc, Jr. of Gonzales; Chelsie Stansbury of Youngsville; Brett Brignac of Jeanerette; Kylie LeBlanc of Gonzales; Hannah Brignac of Jeanerette; Chaz Segura of Gonzales; Malyse Brignac and Jason Vollet, both of Jeanerette; Shane Vollet of Franklin; and Heather Olander of New Iberia; and one great-grandchild, Nickolas Gonsoulin of New Iberia.

Mr. Stansbury was preceded in death by his son, Johnny Ray Stansbury, Jr., his parents, Antoine Stansbury, Sr. and Elsie Miguez Stansbury, his granddaughter, Kylie Rae Stansbury and his nephew, Antoine Stansbury III.

Serving as pallbearers will be David Boudreaux, Michael Stansbury, Chad Stansbury, Clarence Segura, Jr., Jerome LeBlanc, Jr., Derek Trosclair, Brett Brignac and Chaz Segura.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Antoine Stansbury, Jr., Kenneth Stansbury, Samuel Stansbury, Gerald Stansbury and Micheal Brignac.
