Isaiah 42:16 Loreauville " Funeral services will be conducted for Pliny Charles Walet, II, 76, on Wednesday, January 8, 2014, at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Buddy Breaux and Deacon Theo Landry officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Mausoleum. Visitation will be on Tuesday, January 7, 2014, from 4:00 PM until 10:00 PM and resume on Wednesday, January 8, 2014, at 8:00 AM until services. A rosary will be prayed in the funeral home on Tuesday at 7:00 PM. Mr. Walet was born on the Caroline Plantation near Loreauville and was a lifelong resident of Loreauville. Mr. Walet passed away on Monday, January 6, 2014, at 10:40 AM at his residence. He was a retired sugar cane farmer and also retired from Iberia Parish Government. He served in the Louisiana Army National Guard, was a Charter Member of the Lake Dauterive Hunting Club, an avid athlete and was inducted into the New Iberia Recreation Department Softball Hall of Fame. He is survived by his wife Carolyn Breaux Walet; his children, Vickie W. LeBlanc and her husband Johnny, Joni W. Castille and her husband Russell, Shane Walet and his wife Brandi all of Loreauville and Tessie Walet of Cotton Port; his sister, Charlene A. Walet of Loreauville; his grandchildren, Alex LeBlanc and his wife Skye, Kristin LeBlanc, Kylie Castille, Madi Walet, Mason Walet, Ethan Walet and Evan Walet and his great grandchild, Mylee LeBlanc and another great grandchild on the way. He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard Walet and Lawrence Gonsoulin Walet; his brothers, Herman Bull Dog Walet and Michael Walet and his sisters, Carolyn M. Walet and Gail Walet. Pallbearers will be Shane Walet, Russell Castille, Eric Suire, Alex LeBlanc, Mica Hebert and Patrick Breaux. Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny LeBlanc, Charlie Latiolais, Butsy Walet, Danny Walet, Clark Provost, Deacon Theo Landry, Ury Louviere, Mutchie Ransonet, Glenn Angelle, Vin Louviere, Kevin K. P.
