Jeanerette- Funeral services will be held for Nolan Joseph Landry, age 74, on Thursday February 13, 2014 at 2:00pm at David Funeral Home of Jeanerette with Brother Michael Pitre of the First Apostolic Church to serve at the Celebrant. Interment will follow at St. John Cemetery. Visitation will on Thursday February 13, 2014 at 10:00am until service time. A native and lifelong resident of Jeanerette, Mr. Landry passed away on Tuesday February 11, 2014 at 2:55am at his residence. He was a laborer in the sugarcane industry for 20 years but worked many jobs throughout his lifetime and was considered a Jack of all trades . He enjoyed going for rides in his truck and hunting. In his younger days he was an avid and very accomplished Billiards player, winning many tournaments and trophies. Being the very observant person he was, he enjoyed watching the construction of many of the building in the town of Jeanerette. He playfully became known as The Supervisor to the contractors and construction workers. In October of 2013 he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and was baptized at the First Apostolic Church. He was a stoic man but always had love in his heart for his family. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Elvina Rogers Landry; children, Rme Landry and wife Karen, Yancy Landry, Seth Landry, Joy L. Dobbins, Chad Landry, Noel Dimarco and husband Michael, Jonah Landry and fiance Diane; grandchildren, Blake Landry, Tabitha Landry, Kacie Landry, Sarah Guidry, Rme Paul Landry II, Brandi Landry, Breleigh Landry, Kamon Shaw, Mia Dimarco, Marcus Dimarco, Jordan Landry, Kelsey Landry, Sandy Dobbins, Richard James; great grandchildren, Trinity, Triston, Alisha, Monica, Zachary, Noah, Bailey, Lanie; brothers, Roussel Jr., Anthony Tony , and Orion Sweet Landry; and sisters, Josie Clements, Ludy Pittman, and Mary Kaye Landry. Mr. Landry is preceded in death by his parents, Roussel Sweet and Rena Guillotte Landry; sister, Ada Marie Landry; and daughter-in-law, Patty Landry. Honored to serve as pallbearers are Rme Landry, Yancy Landry, Seth Landry, Chad Landry, Jonah Landry, and Kamon Shaw.
