Loreauville- A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Roy John Freyou, the former Emmadell Provost, 87, of Loreauville will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at 2:00PM in St. Joseph Catholic Church. The Reverend John G. Buddy Breaux will serve as Celebrant. Entombment will follow in All Saints Mausoleum.

Visitation will be observed on Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at10:00 AMuntil time of service at David Funeral Home of Loreauville with a rosary to be recited at 11:30AM.

Mrs. Freyou peacefully passed away on Sunday, January 9, 2011 at 5:29AM at St. Martinville Rehab and Nursing Center with family members at her side.

Affectionately known to many as Ma , Emmadell was a native and lifelong resident of Loreauville in Iberia Parish most of her life. Ma was a devoted member of St. Joseph Catholic Church all of her life. Ma also faithfully served as a chapel adorer in perpetual adoration chapel for many years. She was a homemaker and enjoyed working in her yard, sewing, especially handmade embroidered pillowcases, reading, crossword puzzles, and spoiling her grandchildren.

Survivors include her daughter, Marian Freyou Fruge and her husband Jerry; granddaughter, Claire Fruge Richard and her husband Ryan; granddaughter Sarah Fruge' andgreat-grandson Nicholas Richard and all of Loreauville, Grandson, James Trahan and wife Kristine; great-granddaughters, Jenna and Emily Trahan of New Iberia; son David Freyou of Commerce, GA; Grandson, Stephen Freyou and wife Tracey; great-granddaughters, Chelsie and Jeaneen Freyou all of Loreauville; granddaughter, Christi Freyou Thibodeaux and her husband Vincent; great-granddaughters, Caitlyn and Nicole Thibodeaux of Baton Rouge; nephews, Irvin F. Penton and wife Beverly of New Iberia, and Carlton Fuss of Texas.

Preceding Mrs. Freyou in death were her husband, Roy John Freyou; daughter, Linda Freyou Trahan; her parents, Despany and Lonore Trahan Provost; three sisters, Anita P. Fuss, Henrietta P. Penton, and Lillian Provost; and three brothers, Walter, Stanley, and Calvin Provost.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Fruge, Ryan Richard, David Freyou, Stephen Freyou, James Trahan, and Vincent Thibodeaux.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Irvin F. Penton, Wayne Trahan, and Lawrence Courville.

The Freyou Family wishes to sincerely thank the entire staff of St. Martinville Rehab and Nursing Center and Hospice of Acadiana for the special care they provided Emmadell.
