Viola Chauvin Guidry

Visitation will be on Monday, January 3, 2011 from 9:00 AM until services and a rosary will be recited in the funeral home at 11:00 AM on Monday.

A native of Weeks Island and a resident of Jeanerette, Mrs. Guidry died on Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at 7:32 PM in a New Iberia hospital. She was a homemaker, loved to read and play games on her computer.

She is survived by her husband, Ronald Guidry, Sr. of Jeanerette; her sons, Ronald Guidry, Jr. and his wife Lynette of New Iberia and Jason Guidry and his wife Renee of Youngsville; her daughters, Beulah Guidry Mathews and her husband Thomas of Patterson, Melissa Guidry, Ronda Guidry Caballero and her husband Mark all of New Iberia, Tina Guidry Landry and her husband Lawrence and Karen Guidry Morgan and her husband Keith all of Jeanerette and her sister, Bernice LeBlanc of Jeanerette. She is also survived by 23 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Fedora Tabb Chauvin.

Pallbearers will be Ronald Guidry, Jr., Jason Guidry, Lawrence Landry, Jr., Zane Guidry, Thomas Mathews, Jr., Jarred Slaughter and Ronald Guidry, III.

Honorary pallbearers will be Thomas Mathews, Sr., Lawrence Landry, Sr., Mark Caballero, Keith Morgan and Norris Hebert.
