New Iberia " Funeral Services will be conducted for Mrs. Rivers Trahan the former Anna Fortier, Age 95, at 1:00PM Thursday July 14, 2011 at David Funeral Home Chapel with Msgr. Richard Green officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday July 13, 2011 from 5:00PM until 8:00PM with a Rosary being prayed at 6:30PM. Visitation will resume Thursday from 9:30AM until service time. A native of St. Mary Parish and longtime resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Trahan died Sunday July 10, 2011 at 5:00AM in a Lafayette hospital. She enjoyed playing bridge, gardening, cooking and reading. The family would especially like to thank Carol and Patti Gravois and Mike and Dee Smith for their loving care. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Samaritan Center, 402 Girod St., Mandeville, La. 70448. Survivors include her daughters, Renee Giangrosso and husband Roy of Mandeville and Mary Pettus and husband Tim of Northborough, Ma. ; One sister, Evelyn Nauck of Lafayette; 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rivers Trahan, parents, Alfred Fortier, Jr. and Elodie Brown Fortier; sisters, Sister Mary Agnes (Ethel) Fortier, Edvidge Gravois, Sister Mary Denise (Inez) Fortier, Elodie Renoudet and Lydia Thibeaux and one brother, Alfred Fortier III.
