Visitation will be on Monday, January 3, 2011 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM and resume on Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at 8:00 AM until services. A rosary will be recited in the funeral home on Monday at 7:00 PM.
A native of Iberia Parish and a resident of New Iberia, Mr. Maturin died on Friday, December 31, 2011 at 5:15 PM in a New Iberia hospital. He worked or Brown and Root in the oil field industry for over 30 years and then retired from the City of New Iberia as a Maintenance Supervisor. He loved gardening and dancing.
He is survived by his daughters, Shirley M. Landry and her husband Ulysse of Jeanerette, Beverly M. Bouton of Baldwin, Jeanette M. Bourque and her husband Julius of New Iberia; her son, Kerrell Maturin and his wife Karen of Franklin; his brother, Walter Maturin of New Iberia and his sister, Anna Mae Fabre of Texas. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren,14 great grandchildren and6 great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Ada Gary Maturin; his parents, Adam and Edolie Romero Maturin; his brothers, Joseph, Wiltz, Whitney and Raoul Maturin,his sister, Nolia Gary and his son-in-law, Peter Bouton, Sr.
Pallbearers will be Peter Bouton, Jr., Michael Bouton, Chad Landry, Tate Landry, Troy Bourque, Cory Bourque and David Maturin.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ulysse Landry, Julius Bourque, Jimmie Gary,Raymond Romero and Walter Maturin.
