Rev. Anthony "Tony" Derouen

New Iberia- Funeral services will be conducted for Rev. Anthony "Tony" DeRouen, age 63, Monday, January 3, 2011 at 11:00am at Faith Cathedral withPastor Rob Burdeaux of Parks Baprtist Churchofficiating. Interment will follow in Broussard Cemetery Annex. Visitation will begin Sunday, January 2, 2011 from 2:00pm until 9:00pm. Visitation will resume Monday, January 3, 2011 from8:00am until the time of service.

A native and resident of New Iberia, Rev. DeRouen died Thursday, December 30, 2010 at 8:40am in a local hospital. Rev. DeRouen was the founder of Gateway Church and Gateway Christian Academy. He was also the founder of the Ministerial Association, a board member of the Louisiana Coalition Against Domestic Violence and the director of the Angel Tree Program for St. Martin Parish. "Tony" enjoyed playing golf, gardening, cooking and loved to spend time with his grandchildren.

Rev. DeRouen is survived by his wife, Connie DeRouen of New Iberia; his children, Dwight DeRouen and wife Stacey, Jesse DeRouen, Cheryl Apa and husband Chuck, Heather Williams and husband Brandon, Elizabeth Ann DeRouen, Jennifer DeRouen, Rachelle Danos and husband Dustin, all of New Iberia; his father, Calvin DeRouen of New Iberia; his brothers, Daniel DeRouen of Victoria, TX; Darryl DeRouen, Joe DeRouen and David DeRouen, all of New Iberia; his sisters, Susan Etienne and Lil Jambon both of New Iberia; and Rosemary Klemmons of Florida; and 12 Grandchildren.

Rev. DeRouen was preceded in death by his mother, Lillian Broussard DeRouen and his daughter, Kristy Leigh DeRouen.

Serving as pallbearers will be Dwight DeRouen, Brandon Williams, Dustin Danos, Chuck Apa, Daniel DeRouen and Darryl DeRouen.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to: Gateway Christian Academy 128 Randolph St. St. Martinville, La 70582.

Following the services there will be a reception at Gateway Church 128 Randolph St. St. Martinville, LA.
