Erath " A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Joseph Alva Oliva, the former Theresa Romero, 82, will be held at 1:30PM on Saturday, January 29, 2011 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Father Paul Broussard officiating. Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home of Erath on Friday, January 28, 2011 from 2:00PM until 10:00PM with a Rosary being recited by the Catholic Daughters at 6:00PM and the Knights of Columbus at 7:00PM. Visitation will resume on Saturday, January 29, 2011 from 8:00AM until service time. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Lourdes Mausoleum. A native and resident of Erath, Mrs. Oliva passed away at 8:15PM on Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at a local healthcare facility. She was a cafeteria worker at Erath High School for many years. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed cooking, cleaning and camping. She was a fun-loving woman who liked to dance. She is survived by her sons, Gerald Oliva and wife Sarah of Erath and Glenn Oliva and wife Annette of Erath; her grandchildren, Wayne Oliva and wife Marti of Lafayette, Colorado, Byron Oliva and wife Charlene of Erath, Danielle O. Romero of Erath, Joshua Oliva of Youngsville, Meghan Schexnayder and husband Garrett of Erath, Tyler Oliva and wife Denisse of Lafayette and Matthew Oliva of Erath; eight great-grandchildren; and her brother, Theogene Romero of Erath. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Joseph Alva Oliva; her second husband, Wilfred Boudreaux; her parents, Joseph Jenius Romero and Marie Hebert Romero; a brother, Ozare Romero; and a sister, Ozene Romero. Serving as pallbearers will be Wayne Oliva, Byron Oliva, Josh Oliva, Tyler Oliva, Matthew Oliva and Garrett Schexnayder. The family would like to thank Dr. Ronald Lahasky and the staff of Eastridge Nursing Home for their compassionate care and services. David Funeral Home of Erath at 209 E.
