Erath " A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Donald J. Romero, 52, will be held at 3:30PM on Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Fr. Bill Melancon officiating. Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home of Erath on Wednesday, February 5, 2014 from 9:00AM until the time of the services with a recitation of the rosary at 11:00AM. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Lourdes Mausoleum. A native of New Iberia and a resident of Erath Mr. Romero died at 12:00AM on Monday, February 3, 2014 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center. He was known for his enjoyment of fishing, horse racing, going to his camp, and his boat. He is survived by a daughter, Krislyn Romero of Erath; three sisters, Shirley Reaux of Erath, Joyce Comeaux of New Iberia, and Angela Romero of Erath; a niece, Jennifer Hargrave; two nephews, Timothy Reaux and Brennan Comeaux; four great nieces; Mackenzie Hargrave, Emily Hargrave, Railyn Reaux, and Hailey Reaux; and his beloved pet, Sassy . He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Delta Primeaux Romero; and a brother, Allen Thibodeaux. Serving as pallbearers will be Andrew Champange, Donald Logan, Wayne Romero, Cody Stein, Eddie Simon, and Travis Migues. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Brennan Comeaux, and Timothy Reaux. The family would like to extend a special thanks to LOPA for their compassion for the family and their support. The family request donations be made to LOPA in Donald's memory. David Funeral Home of Erath at 209 E. Putnam St. (337)937-0405 will be handling the arrangements.
