Abbeville " Memorial Services will be held for Mrs. Jay Romero, the former Lena Meaux, 78, at 11:00AM on Friday, February 4, 2011 at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church with Father Scott Desormeaux officiating. Interment will follow at a later date. A native and resident of Abbeville, Mrs. Romero passed away at 11:40AM on Monday, January 31, 2011 at her residence, with Hospice of Acadiana, family and loved ones at her side. Lena was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who truly loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed sewing, and cross stitching. Mrs. Romero was a member of the St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Daughters and a supporter of St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church. She is survived by her husband, Jay Romero of Abbeville; daughter, Barbara LeBlanc and her husband Roger of Kaplan; grandson Blake J. LeBlanc and his wife Michelle of Kaplan; great granddaughter Lexie LeBlanc of Kaplan; and brothers, Willis P. Meaux and Jay Meaux both of Abbeville. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rene and Melinda Decuire Meaux and a brother Wiley Many Meaux.
