Erath " A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Joseph N. Needless LaSalle, 85, will be held at 3:00PM on Thursday, May 5, 2011 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Fr. Bill Melancon officiating. Visitation will be at David Funeral Home of Erath on Wednesday, May 4, 2011 from 5:00PM with a recitation of the rosary at 7:00PM, and will remain open until the time of services on Thursday. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery. A native and resident of Erath, Mr. LaSalle passed away at 1:46AM on Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at his residence. He proudly served his country during WWII in the U.S. Army as a French interpreter in France; served with the engineer division rebuilding bridges; and also served as a prison guard with the occupational army. He was a master carpenter for over 60 years building homes and furniture. Mr. Needless enjoyed dancing, especially to the music played by his children who he followed wherever they played. He also enjoyed gardening and whether stranger or friend he would always make you smile with his fun loving nature. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Irene Segura LaSalle of Erath; two sons, Ricky LaSalle and his wife Jacqueline and Timothy LaSalle and his wife Cecile both of Erath; four daughters, Melody Lyons and her husband Dale of Erath, Shannon LaSalle of Erath, Drucie Boudreaux and her husband Dennis of Erath, and Starr Price and her husband Earl D. Price, Jr . of Jeanerette; an adopted daughter, Sandra Touchet and her husband Gene of Erath; fourteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Amedee and Myrtilia Babin LaSalle; his infant son Saunders LaSalle; five brothers, Manson LaSalle, Andrew LaSalle, Roy LaSalle, Leroy LaSalle, and Royce LaSalle; a sister, Lydia LaSalle; and a half brother, Otto Cowboy Bourque. Serving pallbearers will be Slaton LaSalle, Nicholas Hoag, Beau Lyons, Jared Lyons, Bryton LaSalle, and Alex Boudreaux. David Funeral Home of Erath at 209 E.
