Jeanerette " Memorial services will be conducted for Mark Edward Sonnier, 52, on Thursday, February 13, 2014, at 6:30 PM in the David Funeral Home chapel with Father Jody Simoneaux officiating. The St. John the Eavangelist Catholic Church Rosary Group will pray the rosary in the funeral home on Thursday at 5:30 PM.Visitation will be at the David Funeral Home in Jeanerette on Thursday, February 13, 2014 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.A native of New Iberia and resident of Jeanerette, Mr. Sonnier died on Monday, February 10, 2014, at 4:40 AM at his residence.He was employed in the family business at Sonnier's Cracklins in Jeanerette. He loved baseball, fishing and horse racing.He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Comeaux Sonnier of Jeanerette; his parents, Neuville John and Verna Mae Dubois Sonnier of Jeanerette; his son, Tyler Mark Sonnier of Jeanerette; his brother, Keith Sonnier of Lafayette; his sister, Donna Guillotte and her husband Richard of Jeanerette; his nieces, Jill Derouen of New Iberia, Chelly Comeaux of Tuscon, Arizona, Christie Marceaux, Megan Conner, Martika Conner and Lily Comeaux all of Abbeville; his nephews, Jace Guillotte of Jeanerette, Jude St. Armant and Aaron Comeaux both of Abbeville; his mother-in-law, Gussie Comeaux of Abbeville; his sister-in-law, Sarah Doucet and her husband Ernest of Abbeville and his brother-in-laws, Kenny Comeaux and his wife Denise of Abbeville and David Comeaux of Tuscon, Arziona.He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Victor Allen Comeaux; his maternal grandparents, Maurice and Helen Guilbert and grandfather, Odey Dubois and his paternal grandparents, Paul and Katherine Sonnier.David Funeral Home of Jeanerette, 400 Provost St. (337) 276-5151 is in charge of arrangements.
