James "Jim" Boyt

Jeanerette- Funeral services will be conducted for James P. Jim Boyt, age 54, Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at 2:00PM at David Funeral Home Chapel in Jeanerette with Brother Raymond Taylor officiating. Visitation will begin Wednesday, January 5, 2011 from 10:00am until the time of services.

A native of Baton Rouge and resident of Jeanerette, Mr. Boyt died Friday, December 31, 2010 at 10:37am in a local hospital. Jim enjoyed spending leisure time at his camp and fishing. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. Jim was also known as Pappy to his grandchildren, whom he loved and adored.

Mr. Boyt is survived by his fiance, Renee Collins of Jeanerette; his daughter, Christine McGregor and husband Joshua of Clinton; and his grandchildren, Joseph, Joshua, Jr. and Rosalyn, his godmother and aunt, Teny Tuminello of McComb, MS; his aunt, Gertrude Spence of Memphis, TN; his aunt, Lucille Tuminello of Baton Rouge; one niece, one nephew and a host of cousins and friends.

Mr. Boyt was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbur Boyt and Francis Tuminello Boyt and his brother, Joe Boyt.
