Abbeville-Funeral Services for Mrs. Lou Ella G. Landry, 83, will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday January 29, 2011 at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Abbeville with Deacon Randy Hyde officiating. Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home of Abbeville on Friday January 28, 2011 from 2:00PM until 9:00PM with a rosary to be recited at 7:00PM in the funeral home. Visitation will resume Saturday morning at 8:00AM until time of services. Entombment will follow services at St. Mary Magdalen Cemetery. Mrs. Landry was born and raised in Meaux, LA and attended Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Leroy. She moved to Crowley to become a hairdresser where she met and married Paul Lemaire and had eight children. The family settled in Meaux and later moved to Amelia, LA where she and her family ran a service station until her husbands illness forced them to close the business. They returned to their old home in Meaux where she cared for her husband until the time of his death two years later. She later met and married Paul Landry and they enjoyed 26 years of life in Meaux. She leaves behind one sister, Earline Comeaux and her husband Roaul; four daughters, Paulette Lemaire Primeaux and her husband Maurice of Chattanooga, TN, Paula Swenson and her husband Norman of Custer, SD, Claudia Lemaire of Meaux and Ivy L. Royer and her husband Alton of Meaux; three sons, Robert Lemaire of WY, Lynn Lemaire of MT and Allen Lemaire and his wife, Shelia of Meaux; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Paul Lemaire; parents, Claude and Enix Stelly Guidry; and one son, Fred Joseph Lemaire.
