Lafayette- A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Norman Lee Bernard, will be held at 2:00PM on Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at St. Anne Catholic Church in Youngsville, with Father David Hebert officiating. Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home in Lafayette, on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 from 3:00PM until 9:00PM and Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at 8:00AM until the time of service. Interment will follow at St. Anne Mausoleum.

A resident of Youngsville, La., Mr. Bernard died at the age of 70, on February 3, 2014. He passed away at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center after a long and happy life.

Mr. Bernard was born on October 4, 1943 in Youngsville to his parents Homer and Azalie Bernard, He was the husband of Barbara H. Bernard. His life was spend devoting his time and care to his wife, children, family, and home. Mr. Bernard was also a truck driver in the oil field who loved to travel.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara, his son, Kirk Bernard and wife Brittany of Youngsville. Also, daughters Roxane Perrio and husband Craig, of Breaux Bridge and Kim Herzog of Youngsville. His loving sister, Mary Ann B. Sonnier and husband James, of Youngsville. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren; Amanda Guilbeau and husband Adam of Carencro, Charles Bryan Herzog, and Alex Bernard. Mr. Bernard was also blessed with 2 great-grandchildren Chloe and Louis Guilbeau .

A special thanks to his care givers Jodie Bienvenu, Stephanie Sellers, and Ella Gunter.

Mr. Bernard is proceeded in death by his parents, Homer and Azalie Bernard. Also by his two sisters Verline Oser and Anna McMillan.

Serving as pallbearers are as followed Donald Hebert, Craig Perrio, Charles Bryan Herzog, Elroy Beasley, Scotty Granger, Cory Bordelon, Brandon Albert, and Troy Comeaux. Honorary pallbearers will be James Sonnier and Roland Landry.

David Funeral Home of Lafayette, 316 Youngsville Hwy (337) 837-9887, will be in charge of arrangements.
