New Iberia " Funeral services will be conducted for Mrs. Elus Renice Labit, the former Odette LeBlanc, 94, on Friday, January 17, 2014 at 10:00 AM at St. Marcellus Catholic Church with Father Eugene Tremie officiating. Burial will follow in Broussard Cemetery at Bayou Petit Anse. Visitation will be on Thursday, January 16, 2014, from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM and resume on Friday, January 17, 2014 at 8:00 AM until services. A rosary will be prayed in the funeral home on Thursday at 7:00 PM. A native and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Labit passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2014, at 11:28 AM at her residence. She is survived by her children, Cynthia Mae Labit, Barbara Begnaud, Velma Laviolette, Mary Ruth Hebert and her husband Edward Neil, Renice Labit and his wife Anna all of New Iberia, Elsie Smith and her husband Samuel Joseph of Scott, Raymond Labit and his wife Harriet of Lafayette and Joseph Floyd Labit and his wife Lorraine of Breaux Bridge; her sister, Irene Dugas of New Iberia; 19 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elus Renice Labit; her parents, Etis LeBlanc and Eleda Delcambre LeBlanc; her son, Kim Patrick Labit; her sister, Ruby Barras and her grandsons, Brett Hebert, Jude Labit and Brady Labit. Pallbearers will be Raymond Labit, Joseph Floyd Labit, Renice Labit, Cliff Smith, David Laviolette and Byron Hebert.
