Fredrik "Fred" Christiansen, Iii

Abbeville - A celebration of the life of Fredrik Fred Christiansen III, 59, will be held Saturday January 18, 2014 at 10:00 AM in David Funeral Home of Abbeville. Visitation will be held Friday January 17, 2014 from 5:00 PM until 8:00PM, and will resume Saturday from 8:00 AM until time of services. A native of Valier Montana and a resident of Abbeville Fred passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette. He was a member of the Acadiana Symphony Orchestra for 30 plus years, as well as a member of the Lafayette Concert Band, Fred loved riding his motorcycles and kayaking along the Vermilion River, he recently developed a new passion of gardening and buying different types of seeds. Fred was retired from Louisiana Public Broadcasting (LPB) as Director of Engineering. Survivors include his loving wife Chandra B. Christiansen; his daughter Tessy and her husband Nicholas Gaspard; his granddaughter Hannah Gaspard; his parents Fred and Mary Christiansen; two brothers William Bill and his wife Amy Christiansen, and John Christiansen; one sister Thiri Christiansen; and his niece and nephew Hailey and Brandon Christiansen. In lieu of flowers the family request donation be made to Acadiana Symphony Orchestra or the Lafayette Concert Band. David Funeral Home 2600 Charity St. Abbeville La.
