Louis Theo Bares

January 3, 1922 — December 2, 2013

Abbeville- Funeral Services for Louis Theo Bares, 91, will be held at 2:00PM on Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2013 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Milton, LA with Rev. Aaron Melancon Pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church officiating. Visitation will begin at 8:30AM on Wednesday Dec.4, 2013, with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 11:00AM, and will continue until just prior to service time. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

A native of Vermillion Parish, and a resident of the Woodlawn Bridge Community. Louis was a devoted husband and father who loved his family whom were always first in his life, especially his wife of 66 years and his children and grandchildren and great grandchildren. A veteran of the U.S. Army, He was a member of the Vermilion Parish Honor Guard, past commander of the American Legion Post 279, Youngsville VFW, member of Monsignor Gouaux Assembly 2199? 4th Degree Knights of Columbus, Woodman of the World, he also served on the Vermilion Parish Drainage Board District 1 for a number of years, also a board member of Southwest Feed and Farm Supply, and a usher at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Milton.

He is survived by his wife, Wilda Broussard Bares of Woodlawn Bridge Community; three daughters Patsy B. Hebert and Joan B and her husband Billy Morvant all of the Woodlawn Bridge Community, and Aralise B. and her husband Mark Whitney of Lafayette; his grandchildren David R. and his wife Amanda Hebert, Matthew Louis Hebert, Jessica H. and her husband John Ward, Elizabeth M. and her husband Chad Gaspard, Angela M. Bouillion and her friend Barry LeBlanc, and Eric Charles Whitney; Seven great grandchildren; and his brother Paul Bares, of the Woodlawn Bridge Community.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Germain and Edolie Frederick Bares; his grandchild Charles Louis Whitney; seven brothers Theodore, John G., Edward, Henry, Edier, Joseph, and Pierre Bares; his sisters Margaret Bares, Elodie Frederick, Thomassine Bares, Edith Bares, and Irma Bares.

Pallbearers will be Billy Morvant, Mark Whitney, David Hebert, Matthew Hebert, Eric Whitney, and Chad Gaspard. Honorary pallbearers will be Paul Bares, Carol Broussard, and John Ward.

The Bares family wishes to express special thanks to Paramount Hospice, and Mr. Bares?s caretakers Ann Perro, Renee Pillette, and Juanita Landry.
