Abbeville " Funeral Services for Mr. Russell Racca, 81, will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, January 3, 2014 at David Funeral Home Chapel with Deacon Cody Miller officiating. Visitation will be at David Funeral Home of Abbeville on Thursday, January 2, 2014 from 4:00PM until 9:00PM with a recitation of the rosary at 7:00PM. Visitation will resume on Friday, January 3, 2014 from 8:00AM until the time of the services. Interment will follow at St. Paul Mausoleum. A native of Judice and a resident of Youngsville Mr. Racca died at 10:10AM on Wednesday, January 1, 2014 a Abbeville General Hospital. He was the former owner of Racca Grocery and Racca A/C and refrigeration. He also proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He is survived by a son, Lionel Buddy Racca and his wife Angie of Erath; three daughters, Melinda Theriot and her husband Rusty of Erath, Sandra Smith of Erath, and Peggy Carroll of Erath; a brother, Jeffrey Racca of Leesville; a sister, Lorita Nell Racca of Scott; ten grandchildren, Joseph Jo Jo Smith, Chris Smith, Ryan Theriot, Amber Theriot, Jordan Racca, Jared Racca, Jason, Racca, Justin Racca, Stacey Carroll, and Tracy Barras; and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mayo and Lorita Broussard Racca; his former wife, Ella Mae Hargrave Racca, two brothers, Curley Racca, Sr. and Rodley Racca; a sister, Joan Mable Slaughter; and a step-son, Monroe Ray Coleman. Serving as pallbearers will be Rusty Theriot, Ryan Theriot, Buddy Racca, Jared Racca, Jordan Racca, and Chris Smith. Serving as honorary pallbearer will be Jo Jo Smith.
