Abbeville - A Mass of Christian Burial for Ms. Gerdy Mae Sellers, 75, will be held at 10:00AM on Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at St. Theresa Catholic Church of Abbeville with Fr. Kenneth Mayne officiating. Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home of Abbeville on Monday, February 10, 2014 from 8:00AM until 9:00PM, with a recitation of the rosary at 7:00PM. Visitation will resume on Tuesday, February 11, 2014 from 8:00AM until the time of service. Interment will follow at St. Paul Cemetery. A native and resident of Abbeville, Gerdy was employed by Gulf Coast Bank for 40 years before retiring. She was a Loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She passed away at home after a long illness. She is survived by three sons, Timmy Blanchard, and his wife, Tommi, of Oakland, Oregon, John Darren Blanchard, of Abbeville, Chad Nelson Blanchard, and his wife, Nicole of Abbeville. One Daughter, Melanie B. Willis, and her husband, Steve. Two brothers, Carrol Sellers of New Iberia and Nolan Sellers of Abbeville, two sisters, Betty Sellers of Abbeville and Gloria Huffman of Duson, La. She is also survived by fifteen grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Irene Trahan Sellers. Serving as pallbearers will be Nolan Sellers, Carroll Sellers, Jacob Blanchard, Tyson Blanchard, Toby Blanchard, and Blake Blanchard. The family would like to give a special thanks to Christine Blanchard, Ellen Rogers, and Brenda Landry for the loving care and assistance they provided during Ms. Sellers time of need.
