Elizabeth Barrow Bourgeois

Jeanerette- Funeral services will be conducted for Mrs. Lawrence Bourgeois, the former Elizabeth Betsy Barrow, age 85, Sunday August 21, 2011 at 3:00PM at David Funeral Home Chapel with Fr. Ed Degeyter officiating. Interment will follow in Beau Pre Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will begin Saturday August 20, 2011 at 4:00PM until 8:00PM with recitation of the Rosary at 6:30PM. Visitation will resume Sunday at 12:00PM until service time. A native of New Iberia and resident of Jeanerette, Mrs. Bourgeois died Wednesday August 17, 2011 at 10:40PM at her sons residence. Betsys proudest accomplishments were her children and her greatest love was her husband. She loved and enjoyed antiques. Mrs. Bourgeois is survived by her daughters, Louise B. Ransonet and husband Larry, Virginia Zimmerman and husband Tim, sons, Russell Bourgeois and wife Andrea, Dr. L. Barrow Bourgeois and wife Mary, Langdon Bourgeois and wife Johanna and John Bourgeois and wife Dana, all of Jeanerette; 14 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Bourgeois was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Bourgeois, parents, Leonard James Barrow and Lillian Voorhies Barrow, sisters, Louise Voorhies Barrow and Lorraine Barrow Gesser Bernard and one brother, Col. Leonard J. Sug Barrow, Jr. Serving as pallbearers will be Russell Bourgeois, Dr. Barrow Bourgeois, Langdon Bourgeois, John Bourgeois, Lance Ransonet and Leonard Bourgeois.
