Jeanerette " Funeral Services will be conducted for Michael Mike Fitch, Age 66, at 10:00AM Thursday August 25, 2011 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in New Iberia with Father Ed Degeyter officiating. Interment will follow at Beau Pre Mausoleum. Visitation will be Wednesday August 24, 2011 from 5:00PM until 9:00PM with a Rosary being prayed at 6:30PM. Visitation will resume Thursday from 8:00AM until service time. A native of Thibodeaux and lifetime resident of Jeanerette, Mike died Monday August 22, 2011 at 3:03PM at Iberia Medical Center. Mike was an avid hunter and fisherman who especially enjoyed gatherings with family and friends. He worked for Texaco for 26 years and retired from British Petroleum. He was also a volunteer fireman for many years in Jeanerette. Mike was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and a member of the Louisiana National Guard serving as a Sr. NCO. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Judes Childrens Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, Tn. 38105. Survivors include his wife, Peggy Bonin Fitch of Jeanerette, children, Ryan Fitch and wife Kelly of Baldwin, Melissa Fitch and partner Heather Hanna of Starkville, Mississippi and Brette Fitch of Jeanerette, grandchildren, Skyler Fitch and Alexandra Lexi Fitch both of Baldwin and Agrippa Kellum III of Starksville, Mississippi, sisters, Mary Peltier and husband Steven of Erath, Elizabeth Fitch of Abbeville and Debbie Fitch of Alexandria. He was preceded in death by his parents, M.J. Bolo Fitch and Minnie Gilbert Fitch, one brother, Gerald Fitch and two sisters, Suzanne and Patricia Fitch. Pallbearers will be Travis, Jared and Brandon Bonin, Keith and Shayde LeBlanc, Skyler Fitch, Brad Markerson and Agrippa Kellum III. Honorary pallbearers will be Norbert N.J. Bonin, Bobby Bonin Sr., Bobby Bonin Jr., Mike Cormier, Lionel Lancon, Ricky Clement, John Bourgeois and Sapendra Sharma. David Funeral Home, 400 Provost St. Jeanerette, La.
