Bruce Young

New Iberia- Funeral services will be conducted for Mr. Bruce Young, age 81, Saturday November 12, 2011 at 2:00PM at David Funeral Home Chapel with Deacon Joseph C. Thomas officiating. Visitation will begin Saturday from 10:00AM until service time. Private Inurnment will be held at a later date.

A native of Castile, NY, former resident of Perry, NY and resident of Youngsville; Mr. Young died Wednesday November 9, 2011 at 9:55PM at his residence. Mr. Young retired as a Project Engineer with International Salt/Akzo Salt Company after 40 years of service. Bruce was an avid outdoorsman; living life to the fullest, he enjoyed swimming, spring board diving, hunting and fishing. Bruce was a loving husband, father and grandfather; taking pride in caring for his family and those times where his most cherished.

Mr. Young is survived by his wife of 62 years, Doris Copeland Young of Youngsville; his son, Gordon Scott Young and significant other, Stacie; his daughter, Patty Young Schales and fianc Dennis Moreau; all of New Iberia; grandchildren, Bruce and Colleen Schales, both of New Iberia and Katie and Jenna Young of Parks; half-sisters, Pauline Childress and Wilma Richard, both of Port Charlotte, FL; and a half-brother, Carl Mote of Warsaw, NY.

Mr. Young was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Bolton Young, sister, Winona Blanchard and a half-brother, Charles Mote.

Serving as pallbearers will be family and friends.
