New Iberia " Funeral services will be conducted for Clarence P. Begnaud, 87, on Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church with Father Edward Duhon officiating. Entombment will follow in Nativity of Our Lady Mausoleum. Visitation will be on Tuesday, November 27, 2012 from 11:00 AM until 9:00 PM and resume on Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at 8:00 AM until services. A rosary will be prayed in the funeral home on Tuesday at 6:30 PM. A native of Breaux Bridge and a resident of New Iberia, Mr. Begnaud died on Monday, November 26, 2012 at 6:43 AM at his residence. He was a retired mechanic in the oilfield service industry and was a Veteran of World War II having served in the U.S. Coast Guard. He loved woodworking, gardening, camping and was a member of the Cruzin Cajuns Camping Club. He had a love for Cajun music. He loved to make candy for the holidays and loved Christmas time. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Ruby Dore Begnaud of New Iberia; his sons, Charlie Begnaud, Sr. and his wife Annette and Joey Begnaud and his wife Lanny all of New Iberia; his sister, Mildred Huval of Breaux Bridge; his grandchildren, Charlie J. Chuck Begnaud, II of Hudson, NH, Jed Begnaud, Danet " Marie Clements, Joshua Begnaud and Ory Begnaud all of New Iberia and his great grandchildren, Triston Clements of New Iberia, Carleigh, Madelyn and Gabrielle Begnaud all of Hudson, NH. He was preceded in death by his parents, Valex and Marie Broussard Begnaud; his son, Danny Begnaud; his brothers, Howard, Andrew, Chester, and James Begnaud and his sisters, Margaret Blanchard, Dorothy Hahn and Verna Guidry. Pallbearers will be Jed Begnaud, Joshua Begnaud, Ory Begnaud, Brian Huval, Mike Huval and Rodney Leblanc. Honorary pallbearers will be Charlie J.
