New Iberia- A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Joe J. Boudreaux, age 94, will be conducted on Friday October 18, 2013 at 11:00am at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church with Father Steven Steve LeBlanc to serve as the Celebrant. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Mausoleum. Visitation will begin on Thursday October 17, 2013 from 3:00pm and conclude at 10:00pm with a recitation of the rosary by the Mens Rosary Group at 7:00pm. Visitation will resume Friday morning October 18, 2013 from 9:00am until service time. A native of St. Martinville and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Boudreaux passed away on Sunday October 13, 2013 at 1:15am at a local nursing home. Mr. Boudreaux was a Salesman at Himel Motor Supply before retiring after 27 years. He was an excellent salesman and would often make sales while out with his family and friends. Mr. Boudreaux excelled in many things, he was a carpenter and made swings and gliders for a number of years and also made wooden crosses in his later years. Mr. Joe was also a superb bowler, and once bowled a personal best score of 280, 20 points away from a perfect game. Mr. Boudreaux had a passion for music and was an accomplished accordion player. He would often play at all of the local nursing homes and for private events. He enjoyed dancing, going to the casino, and reminiscing of days past before electricity where they would gather for parties with kerosene lamps. Mr. Boudreaux proudly served his country as a member of the Army Air Forces during World War II. Survivors include his son, James Jimmy Wayne Boudreaux and wife Nicole of Broussard, grandsons, Justin Boudreaux and companion Ada Fuentes of Orange County, CA., Matthew Boudreaux of Lafayette; sisters, Rena Froisy of New Iberia; and special companion Edna Suir of Breaux Bridge. He was preceded in death by his wife Enid Zeringue Boudreaux; parents, Delma and Donatile Broussard Boudreaux; daughter, Mary Ellen Boudreaux; siblings, Dudley, Emile, Lawrence, Arthur, and Wilson Boudreaux, Lydia Armentor, Eunice Delcambre, Louise Louviere, and Melina Broussard. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
