Janet Lynn Aucoin

September 14, 1952 — February 14, 2014

New Iberia- A memorial service will be held at a later date for Mrs. Richard "Rock" Aucoin, the former Janet Lynn Dodson, age 61. Mrs. Aucoin passed away at her residence on Friday February 14, 2014 at 12:40pm with her husband by her side. Mrs. Aucoin was a model of health and fitness and worked as an Aerobics Instructor at Racketeers Health Club for 5 years. Even since she was a young girl, horses were her life. She loved riding her horses and raising show horses, winning many American Quarter Horse Association competitions at the Sugarena and surrounding areas. Her personality reflected the old saying, "They broke the mold when they made her."; she was a blunt woman with a wonderful sense of humor and will be missed by everyone that knew her. Survivors include her husband of 30 years, Richard "Rock" Aucoin of New Iberia; father, Neil Dodson of Hedland, Al.; brothers, Barry Dodson of Hedland, Al., Larry Dodson of San Antonio, Tx.; and numerous friends Mrs. Aucoin considered family. She is preceded in death by her mother, Effie Barret Dodson. Mr. Aucoin would like to thank Hospice of Acadiana for their outstanding care and compassion, and all the love, prayers, and support from her friends.
