New Iberia - Funeral services will be conducted for Andrew Roy Armentor, 90, at 3:00 PM at David's Funeral Home Chapel with Father Gary Schexnayder officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Family Mausoleum. Visitation will be Friday, February 28, 2014 from 10:00 AM till time of service. A rosary will be recited at 1 PM. Roy Armentor was a native of Abbeville and a long time resident of New Iberia for 67 years. Mr. Armentor was born on December 25, 1923 and died at home Wednesday, February 26, 2014. He and his wife owned and operated Armentor's Service Center for 25 years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Mr. Armentor loved gardening, cooking for his family and dancing with the love of his life, Cecil Dugas Armentor, his wife of 70 years. Mr. Armentor was a veteran of World War II, a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army, 267 1st Airborne, O.S.S. Commandos, Special Recon Battalion. He served in North Africa, Italy, Southern France and trained the first Chinese Paratroopers. He received the Purple Heart and the love and respect of his family; because everyday of his life he always put this family's needs first before his own. His is survived by his wife Cecile Dugas Armentor; two sons, David Roy Armentor and wife Julie and Joey Armentor and wife Dianne both of New Iberia, LA; grandchildren Candace Frioux, Andrew Comeaux, Jennifer Armentor Coleman, Davey Armentor and Laci Armentor Labry. He had five great grandchildren, Blake Frioux, Ryan P. Coleman, II, Hudson Comeaux, Andrea Comeaux and Lane M. Labry and one sister Betty A. Thibodeaux of Abbeville. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Andrea Armentor Comeaux, his parents Joseph & Orta Guidry Armentor, his brothers Lloyd Armentor and Ivan "Mike" Armentor and a sister, May A. East. Pallbearers will be Andrew Comeaux, Davey Armentor, Stephen Labry, Brent Frioux, Ryan Coleman & Richard Armentor. Honorary Pallbearers will be J.D. Dugas, Leeward Thibodeaux. The Family would like to thank Hearts of Hospice, especially Nathan Lopez, LPN, for the love and care given to Roy and his family.
