Raymond "Lil Man" Guillot

Jeanerette- A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Mr. Raymond "Lil Man" Guillot, age 93, on Thursday March 6, 2014 at 2:00pm at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Father Jody Simoneaux to serve as the Celebrant. Entombment will follow at St. John's Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Wednesday March 5, 2014 at 2:00pm and conclude at 10:00pm with a recitation of the rosary at 7:00pm. Visitation will continue on Thursday beginning at 8:00am until service time. Born on November 3, 1920 in Weeks Island and raised in Charenton, Mr. Guillot died peacefully at his home on March 1, 2014 surrounded by his family. He served honorabley with the United States Army during World War II stationed in New Guinea. He enjoyed watching sports on TV, tending to his vegetable garden, dancing, and being with his family. In his early years he worked in the oil field and later retired from Cabot Corp. after 25 years of service. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Olivia LeBlanc Guillot; daughters, Margaret Landry and husband Kardell of Jeanerette, Jeanette Guillotte of Lafayette; grandchildren, Vincent Dupre, Kathryn Gauthreaux and husband Gregg, Natalie Simpson and husband George, Jenny Dupre and companion Daniel, Jaime Trahan; and great grandchildren, Devin, Brandon, Maci, and Marissa Gauthreaux, Harley, Raelyn, and Camryn Dupre, and Austin, Ben, and Chloe Simpson. Mr. Guillot was preceded in death by his mother, Eva Guillot; uncles, Noey Guillotte and wife Eugene, Dolzey "Nook" Guillotte and wife Doris, Ovey Guillotte and wife Lorna, and Bill Guillotte and wife Zilda. Honored to serve as pallbearers are Vincent Dupre, Devin and Brandon Gauthreaux, Austin Grey, Jerry Guillotte, and David Simoneaux. The family would like to express a "Thank You" to Medsource Home Health, Heart of Hospice, and Dr. Stephen Boudreaux for their kind and caring service provided to the family.
