Erath - Funeral Services for Herman James Morgan, 81, will be held Monday, March 10, 2014 at 2:00PM, in the David Funeral Home Chapel with Deacon Cody Miller officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, March 9, 2014 from 4:00PM until 9:00PM with a recitation of the Rosary at 7:00PM. Visitation will continue on Monday, March 10, 2014 from 8:00AM until the time of service. Interment will follow at St. Paul Cemetery. A native of Church Point, Louisiana and a resident of Erath, Mr. Morgan was born and raised a farmer and at an early age went to work for Domtar Chemicals Salt Mine on Cote Blanche Island. Herman, was an inspiration to all of his family, being disabled and in a wheelchair for fourteen years, this still did not stop him however from doing the things he really loved, like gardening, and yard work, even raking the yard from his wheelchair. Even from a very young age, Mr. Morgan always had a love of the land. Mr. Morgan also truly loved being with his family and friends, and cherished every moment with them, always looking forward to the next visitor. He will be deeply missed by all who loved him. He is survived by his wife, Amanda Broussard Morgan of Erath; a daughter, Cindy Morgan of Erath; one brother Willie Morgan of Erath; two sisters, Mrs. Wilfred (Norma) Luquette of Abbeville, and Gloria M. Creamer of Henry; three step grandsons, Damas Chandler of Henry, Tyler Bergeron of Erath, and Jesse Bergeron of Coteau. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Grady and Jane Thibodeaux Morgan, four brothers, Raymond Morgan, Henry Grady "Tiny" Morgan, Jr., Earl Morgan, and William "Bill" Morgan, and sister, Earline M.
