Erath - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held honoring the life and spirit of Melba "Bill" LeBlanc, 95, on Wednesday, March 12, 2014, at 11:00AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Erath, with Rev. Bill Melancon officiating. Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home of Erath on Tuesday, March 11, 2014, from 5:00PM to 9:00PM with the recitation of the Rosary at 7:00PM. Visitation will resume on Wednesday, March 12, 2014 from 8:00AM until the time of services. Internment will follow at Our Lady of Lourdes Mausoleum. Melba, a native of Erath, died peacefully at Maison Du Monde on March 10, 2014. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family. She also enjoyed cooking, traveling, sewing, crocheting, dancing and, most of all cleaning. Survivors include a son, George Paul LeBlanc and his wife Tammy of Erath; two daughters, Judy LeBlanc Shiner and her husband Eddie of Erath, and Joan LeBlanc Langlinais and her husband Tilford of Erath; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and one sister, Lona Faye Mavrinac. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 73 years, George Joseph LeBlanc; her parents, Aristile LeBlanc and Olita Bergeron LeBlanc; one granddaughter, Patrice LeBlanc of Lafayette; two brothers, J. Paul LeBlanc and Harold LeBlanc. Serving as pallbearers will be Richard Shiner, Karl Shiner, Kyle Langlinais, Derek Latiolais, Nicky Duplechain and Jordy Shiner. Honorary pallbearers will include her sons-in-law Eddie Shiner and Tilford Langlinais and brother-in-law Leonard Mavrinac. Lectors will be Joe Tinker and Teilla Shiner. Giftbearers will be her granddaughters, Mary Shiner, Paige Duplechain, Stacey LeBlanc, Katelyn LeBlanc, Renee Latiolais, Ashlie Langlinais and great-granddaughter Kynnedi Latiolais. The family would like to send thanks to her special sitter Diana Hicks. The family also thanks multiple others along her long journey. We would also like to thank Maison du Monde, Hospice of Acadiana and Concepts of Care for all their love and support.
