Lafayette - Funeral services for Michael A. "Poppy" Crochet, Sr. 70, will be held Saturday March 15, 2014, at 11:00 am at St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Houma. Burial will be held at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Gray, LA. Visitations will be at David Funeral Home in LAFAYETTE, LA from 5:00PM to 9:00PM Thursday March 13, 2014 and Friday March 14, 2014 at Falgout Funeral Home in Houma, LA., from 5pm to 9pm and will resume Saturday March 15, 2014 at St. Bernadette Catholic Church from 9am until time of services. A Native of Houma, LA, residing in Youngsville, LA Michael passed away Tuesday March 11, 2014 from a long battle with cancer. He proudly worked for Greenes Energy Group for the last 24 years and was known and respected by his peers in the oil industry his entire career. Michael is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Carolyn Ledet Crochet; 2 Sons, Michael A. Crochet, Jr. and wife Jan, Brent J. Crochet, Sr.; Daughter, Shanna M. Verdin and husband Jason; Brother, Lee A. Crochet and wife Beulah; nieces, Wendy Hirsch and Melissa Gray; Grandchildren, Jade Crochet, Lyndsy Crochet, Katie Crochet, Ryan Crochet, Britney Crochet, Dylan Crochet, Brent J. Crochet, Jr.; Great-Grandchildren, Peyton Crochet, Jane Leger, Kourtlyn Verdin. Michael was preceded in death by his Father, Aloysius Crochet, Mother, Una Savoie Crochet, Sister, Myrna Crochet Gray, Grandparents Eugene and Mae Eschete Savoie. Thank you to all his family, friends and loved one for the constant prayers and support extended to him during his illness.
