A native and lifelong resident of Youngsville Mr. Frederick died at 5:40AM on Sunday, March 16, 2014 at Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center. Gustave graduated from Youngsville High School in 1956. He married Yvonne Touchet and was married for 52 years before her untimely death in April, 2011. Gus worked for several companies within the HVAC Industry before opening Frederick Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning in the Mid 70s. Gustave later closed out his work career with Lafayette Air Conditioning and AC Sales and Service and was a mentor to many. He was involved with his sons in horse shows and formed many long lasting friendships during those years. He was very involved in coaching his sons in baseball, basketball and football and spent numerous hours and trips with them hunting, fishing, go cart racing and camping. He was always willing to give of his time and always there if you needed a hand. He was a Jack of many trades and often offered his skills and time to family, friends and neighbors. He loved to shrimp on his boat named "Sky" and spent many weekends on the water with Yvonne and watching the LSU Tigers and Yankees Baseball. He loved spending time with his family often pulling together a Boucherie, BBQ, or sausage-boudin making event to bring us all together. He enjoyed teaching his Cajun Heritage to his sons and their children and was often found listening to Cajun Music on Sundays while cooking one of his favorite meals. He looked forward to his weekly men's suppers and card playing with his friends and his 3 O'Clock coffee time. In his final years he enjoyed going to his Camp in Delcambre and fishing with his grandson Ethan and cooking with David and Barbara Romero with his dog Garcon by his side. He will be dearly missed. He is survived by three sons, Danny Frederick and his wife Stacey of Milton, Scotty Frederick of Youngsville, and Kenny Frederick of Youngsville; six grandchildren, Skyleur Frederick, Katie Mosteller, Ethan Frederick, Jordan Frederick, Emmie Frederick, and Sydney Frederick; a brother, Harold Frederick of Youngsville; a sister, Ruby Dorcey of New Iberia, and numerous nieces and nephews.
