Jeanerette - Funeral services will be conducted for Ulysse Ernest "Nomie" Landry, 92, on Monday, March 24, 2014, at 10:00 AM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Father Jody Simoneaux officiating. Interment will follow in St. John Cemetery with Military Graveside Rites by V.F.W. Post 1982 of New Iberia. Visitation will be on Sunday, March 23, 2014, from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM and resume on Monday, March 24, 2014, at 8:00 AM until services. A rosary will be prayed in the funeral home on Sunday at 6:00 PM. A native and resident of Jeanerette, Mr. Landry died on Thursday, March 20, 2014, at 6:45 PM at his residence. He retired from Ashland Chemical after 40 years of employment. He was a Veteran of World War II having served in the U.S. Army. He was a former member of the V.F.W. Post in Jeanerette. He loved fishing, hunting, playing pool, yard work and gardening. He is survived by his sons, John Landry and his wife Bonnie of Lafayette and Ray Landry and his wife Rhoda of Jacksonville, FL; his daughters, Sherry Hicks and her husband Edward of Jacksonville, FL and Patricia L. Boudreaux of Nashville, TN; his daughter-in-law, Peggy Landry of Jeanerette; his brother, Allen Landry of Dequincy; his sister, Myrtle Landry Grisaffi and her husband John of Jeanerette; his grandchildren, Beth Rounsaville, Michelle Shami, Amy Johnson, David and Rebekah Boudreaux, Chad, Michael and Brian Hicks, Elle Voorhees, Leigh, Claire and Anthony Landry and 14 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Renella Kern Landry; his parents, Honore Landry and Mathile Landry Landry; his son, Lynn Landry; his brother, Edmond Landry; his sisters, Mary L. Broussard, Eunice Ladouceur and Majorie Landry. Pallbearers will be Chad Hicks, Michael Hicks, Anthony Landry, Brian Hicks, David Boudreaux and Gary Voorhees.
