Elwood Joseph Molaire

New Iberia - Memorial Mass will be held for Elwood "Moe" Joseph Molaire, 75, on Monday, March 24, 2014, at 2:30 PM at St. Peters Catholic Church with Father Charles Langlois officiating. A gathering of the family and friends will be on Monday, March 24, 2014 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at the David Funeral Home at 1101 Trotter St. in New Iberia. A native and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Molaire died on Thursday morning, March 20, 2014, upon arrival at a local hospital. He retired from Guillory Trucking and served in the U. S. Air Force. He loved his animals, especially his dog, "Stormy" and loved to fish. He had a great sense of humor and was a true Cajun. He is survived by his wife, Toni Reed Molaire of New Iberia; his daughter, Nickie Molaire and her partner Tricia of Dallas, TX; his grandson, Grant Molaire Donovan of Dallas, TX; his brothers-in-law, Martin Reed and his wife Dot and Ervin Reed and his wife Kathy all of Shreveport; his sisters-in-law, Mary Helen Corkern of Bossier City and Jill Gary and her husband Gilbert "Goo" Gary of New Iberia; his nephew, Albert Eugin of New Iberia; his nieces, Linda Rone of Tocoma, Washington and Nanette Phillips of Carencro; his godson, Rusty Reed of Dallas, TX; his aunt, May Louviere of New Iberia and his first cousins, Francis Derouen of New Iberia and Chris Derouen. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred J. and Theresa Louviere Molaire; his brother-in-law, Richard Reed and his first cousins, Dallas Derouen and Ray Derouen. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials to the Iberia Humane Society and / or the Social Service Center.
