New Iberia - Travis Anthony Segura, age 92 of New Iberia went home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 21, 2014, at 6:45 PM. Mr. Segura was born in New Iberia on July 16, 1921, the son of the late Joseph Washington Segura and Ida Moore Segura. Mr. Segura, was married to Nell Beatrice David Segura, who predeceased him, for 59 wonderful years. Mr. Segura attended St. Peter's College in New Iberia as a young man and chose a career as machinist working for Voorhies Machine Shop for 51 years. Mr. Segura proudly defended his country in the Pacific Theater of Operations in World War II, serving in the United States Navy. Mr. Segura was a parishioner of Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church in New Iberia and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He is survived by his son Travis Jude Segura and his wife Zahira Ward of Houston, TX; his daughter Connie S. Olivier and her husband Tony Olivier, Sr. of New Iberia; his daughter-in-law, Sharon Segura of New Iberia; his brother, Ernest Segura of New Iberia; his sister, Rita Foreman of New Iberia; his grandchildren, Broc J. Segura, Brianne Jenkins, Brennen Segura, Bron Segura, Katie Caro and Tony Olivier, Jr. and thirteen great grandchildren. A gathering a family and friends will take place on Sunday, March 23, 2014, from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM and resume on Monday, March 24, 2014, at 8:00 AM until services. A rosary will be prayed in the funeral home on Sunday at 6:00 PM. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, March 24, 2014, at 1:00 PM at Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church with Father Anselm Ofodum officiating. Military Graveside Rites will follow at Nativity of Our Lady Mausoleum. Pallbearers will be Tony Olivier, Jr., Broc Segura, Brennen Segura, Bron Segura, Brian Jenkins and Bill Lindley.
