Lafayette-- A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Gordon Raines,the former Martha Baudouin, 52, will be held at 1:00PM on Friday, April 4, 2014 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Fr. Louis Richard officiating. Visitation will be at David Funeral Home of Lafayette on Thursday, April 3, 2014 from 5:00PM until 9:00PM with a recitation of the rosary at 6:00PM. Visitation will resume on Friday, April 4, 2014 from 8:00AM until the time of the services. Interment will be held 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at Fillmore Cemetery in Haughton, LA with Rev. Bill Crosby officiating. A native of Thibodaux and a resident of Broussard Mrs. Raines died at 7:43 AM on Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at her residence. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Louisiana State Nurses Association. She was known as a dedicated nurse who had a passion for helping others regardless of the time it required. She retired after over 30 years in nursing, have spent the last 15 years as a case manager. She also enjoyed gardening,fishing, and swimming. She is survived by her husband of 29 years, Gordon J. Raines of Broussard; a son, Will Raines of Broussard; a daughter, Jennifer Raines of Broussard; her mother, Blanche Lasseigne Baudouin of Thibodaux; a brother, Lowell Baudouin, II of Tempe, AZ; a sister, Eleanor Baudouin of Niceville, FL; and her nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Lowell Baudouin,I. Serving as pallbearers will be members of her friends and family.
