New Iberia - Funeral services will be conducted for Mrs. Charles Lenis Blanchard, the former Agnes Bourque, 94, on Wednesday, March 11, 2015, at 2:00 PM in the David Funeral Home Chapel with Father Ed Degeyter officiating. Burial will follow at 3:30 PM in St. John Cemetery at the Cathedral in Lafayette. Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 10, 2015, from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM and resume on Wednesday, March 11, 2015, at 9:00 AM until 2:00 PM. A rosary will be prayed in the funeral home on Tuesday at 7:00 PM. A native of Vermilion Parish and a resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Blanchard passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2015, at 4:10 AM in a New Iberia hospital. She was family oriented, a Prayer Intercessor, loved her church and always had a positive attitude and enjoyed playing bingo. She is survived by her daughter, Darline Blanchard Laughlin and her husband Tom of Grapevine, TX and her granddaughter, Anne Marie Laughlin Swanson and her husband Rick of Lafayette. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Lenis Blanchard; her father, Marcel Bourque; her mother, Elise Bonin Bourque; her daughter, Mary Blanchard; her brothers, Paul, Ulrich "Mickey", Willie, Maurice, Aymar and Oscar Bourque; her sister, Delta Bourque Girouard and her grandchild, David Laughlin. Pallbearers will be Lonney Girouard, Amy Girouard, Debbie Ryan, Rick Swanson, Tom Laughlin and Bert Girouard.
