New Iberia - Funeral services for Mr. John "Brother" Howard Valls Jr., age 60, will be held Monday May 25, 2015 at the David Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00pm with Deacon Theo Landry officiating. Reading from the scriptures will be Samantha Valls, Holly Valls, and Jade Dugas. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be at David Funeral Home in New Iberia on Monday May 25, 2015 from 9:00am until 1:45pm, with recitation of the rosary at 1:30pm. A native and lifelong resident of New Iberia, "Brother" as everyone knew him passed away on Saturday May 23, 2015 at 6:50am at a local hospital. Mr. Valls was a corrosion engineer and a co-owner of B & D Inspection Services, as well as a member of the National Association of Corrosion Engineers. He enjoyed going to the hunting camp and spending time with his family. Mr. John loved to socialize with his friends and had a passion for the game of golf and was a member of the N.I.G.A.(New Iberia Golf Association). Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Brittany Valls of New Iberia; father, Mr. John Howard Valls Sr. of New Iberia; siblings, Ernie Valls and wife Jane of New Iberia, Patrick "Pat" Valls Sr. and wife Lisa of St. Martinville, Phyllis Rourke and husband Ken of Katy Texas, Tracy Valls and friend Joyce Sonnier of New Iberia; nieces and nephews, Jason Valls, M.D. of New Iberia, Lacy Morrow and husband Darrell of Loveland, Ohio, Laura Delcambre, Lindsay Valls, Patrick "P.J." Valls Jr. and wife Samantha, Jeremy Valls and wife Holly, Matthew Valls and wife Lindsey, Sarah Carriere and husband Brock, and Chelsey Valls all of New Iberia, Emily Rourke and Evan Rourke of Katy, Tx; and mother of Brittany Valls, Annette Valls. Mr. Valls is preceded in death by his mother, Elaine Hernandez Valls and son, Jared Valls. Those upholding the Honor of Pallbearer include: Ernie Valls, Jason Valls, Patrick "Pat" Valls Sr., Patrick "P.J." Valls Jr., Jeremy Valls, Matthew Valls, Rene Gary, and Kent Desormeaux. Honorary Pallbearers will include members of the New Iberia Golf Association.
